:: If it's a severed head I'm going to be very upset ::
Oh how I miss Wayne's World. You know, I'm still supposed to watch that with three very special people when I get back from Italy! (Ahem, Tod, Zach, and Kevin). Anyway, life here in Italy is pretty awesome. Other than a few minor setbacks...okay. I'll just stop right here and announce to everyone that yes, Liz had quite the major setback in Italy. You remember that whole appendicitis thing I had a few months ago? Well, I sort of had a relapse. In 20% of all cases of appendicitis, those who undergo surgery end up developing what are called adhesions. These adhesions are little strings of scar tissue that decide to attach to other organs in your body. In my case, this happy little tissue attached itself to my small intestine, closing it off and making it impossible for my digestive system to function properly. So, I had a nice emergency trip to an Italian hospital, which included surgery, a 4 day/5 night stay, and all you can eat IV. Doesn't get much better than that. Overall though, it was an experience that I'm sure no one else I know will ever have. My Italian experience, is now TRULY unique.
Anyway, before I arrived here in Gatteo, which is a little nothing town near the Adriatic and the Republic of San Marino, Keith, Craig, and I were in Rome. It was awesome. We stayed and ate 2 meals a day for free, enjoyed bunches of sites, did some shopping, and felt oodles and oodles of God's love everywhere. We saw the pope, and listened to him give a nice speech, and we went just about everywhere there is to go in Rome. Very cool.
I'm growing a lot in Jesus Christ here, mostly because of the service but also because of the time I'm taking each day to pray and read the word. God's revealing a lot of cool things for the Bible Study next year and just for my daily walk as a Christian. Totally awesome. And here in Gatteo the service is different because we're serving handicapped (mostly mentally) rather than eldery. It's an exciting change and I like it a lot. Mostly we just sit around with them all day or walk places with them or go swimming. Today we drove with a group over to San Marino and just walked around for the morning. It was awesome.
Craig and I are doing great and I can't wait to see him again back home, as well as all of my other friends and family that I've been missing for so long! This year at the GiVSU is going to be simply awesome. :o) Anywho, I'm off to book flights places. If you guys need to email me here in Gatteo (and please do I love hearing from you all) the new email address is lizmckee02@hotmail.com. Lots of love ya'll and God bless!
