:: Fall Face Lift ::
"I will lift my eyes to see Your precious holy face.
I will life my voice to sing out Your neverendng praise.
I will lift my hands in worship before Your holy throne.
I lift my praise and worship You alone."
Song by Acquire the Fire
I've decided that the beginning of this school year is going to go along with the retreat I helped coordinate for St. Mary youth group my senior year. It's a "Fall Face Lift." I'll be lifting my eyes and my voice to Heaven, offering praise and glory to my maker for everything He's done.
You know, Brian Livengood was taken off life support the other day. Not because they've given up hope, but because he's breathing completely on his own. He doesn't even NEED it anymore! That's an awesome victory right there.
Craig's got a house this year. Could God be any more faithful? Now we have the perfect place to host our growing Bible study.
Speaking of our growing Bible study, we keep adding more and more people to our retreat list. For those of you who don't know, Craig and I are hosting a retreat up at my cabin near Ludington for the whoe Bible study crew. We've got our normal crew there...Jessie, Jenny, me, Craig, and Keith; a couple of new kids to the Bible study but not to the Bible study crew...Jen, Jason, Kate; and then some new people all together...Rachel, Crystal, Ben, Nicole, and Shannon. Now, we haven't really gotten any word from the "new people all together" category, but even if they don't end up at the cabin, they'll probably end up in the Bible study.
I find myself talking with complete and total ease with anyone about anything related to God. I've just got this spiritual confidence now. Except it's not even like I'm having to force the whole God thing into the conversation. It just seems to happen naturally. Like God is just opening doors for me left and right to talk about anything with anyone. He's got it all figured out.
Today Craig's doing a brake job on my car, I'm working on my senior project, I'm e-mailing my family, and I'm spending lots and lots of time in the Word. I actually have some sermons on tape to listen to about being led by the Spirit. That should be some good times.
Yesterday, Jessie and I had a blast just being together again. We laughed about nothing and everything at once...reminiscing on old times. It's so cool to go through all of these spiritual changes with her around, because even though we're both growing and changing towards Christ, we still have that same core friendship and attitude. I really admire and respect Jessie for the changes she's made, the woman she's becoming, and for the love that she's always been able to show me no matter what. I can't remember a time when Jessie's been mad at me. Ever. That kind of love doesn't come along every day. It's a complete and total blessing.
Tomorrow the five core kids of the Bible study: Craig, Keith, Jessie, Jason, and I are getting together to discuss the organiztion and the plans for this year. We are really just preparing to do some totally cool things with this group. God's got jobs for all five of us. Important ones and we are so psyched to do them.
I made lasagna the other night for everyone. It was so great to have just a room full of people over for dinner. I just love having people over here. I just feel like the welcoming, Godly woman I'm supposed to be. Anytime any of you want to come over and watching stupid scary movies, hold a jam session, play some frisbee, or just sit around and do nothing, come on over to Laker Village 2L. We'll be happy to have you.
