:: "The river is wide and oh so deep, and it winds and winds around... ::
...I dream we're happy in my sleep, floating down, and down, and down."
I love those dreams you have where you're falling. They're frightening, unfortunately, but exciting at the same time. You just feel yourself plummeting to the earth and then when you awake with a start, you find yourself, surprisingly, in bed. It's comforting, but your heart is still racing...you're surprised you survived.
I used to have a recurring nightmare that involved falling.
I'm sort of an omniscient viewer throughout all of this dream. I see everything that's going on, but I never really experience the dream myself until the falling occurs. The view I first get is sort of one overhead, I can see forests, and hills, and houses, and everything below. It's a pretty rural area. At that point I sort of come flying in on this little girl, walking around on some old stone ruins. She's got her arms out, balancing herself along the stones that happen to be on the edge of an extremely steep hill...It's almost a cliff. She's dressed in pioneer-type clothes...With the dress and the bonnet and the apron the black buckle shoes. Then I hear a voice. It's a mother's voice and she's calling for the little girl. "Emily..." The girl ignores her and keeps going. "Emily..." The voice says again, louder. The little girl turns quickly towards the voice, trips on the stones, and falls. This is where I feel myself plummeting towards the earth too. Then the whole image sort of flashes white and right before I wake up, I see this family, still in pioneer-type clothes, all dressed in black surrounded a grave. It flashes white again, and then I see the grave, but never make out the words. I wake up.
It's pretty bizarre. I've only had it three or four times...And it was when I was young too. But still, I remember it. Funny thing, my parents were going to name me Emily.
These past few days have been pretty cool. I got to spend some quality time with Craig, which was wonderful. He surprised me with the Todd Agnew CD, "Grace Like Rain" and he also printed off a black and white copy of a picture of us in Hyde Park. It's actually quite the adorable picture. He's got me pinned and he's tickling me until I beg for mercy. He got it framed for me and everything. It sits on my shelf just about my computer monitor...Right in my line of vision.
We went to Resurrection Life Church on Sunday and they had a guest speaker there who specializes in marriage seminars. It was so refreshing to hear what he had to say about marriages and to see how so many people are following what the pharisees did back in Jesus' time. He totally confirmed everything I already said and believed about marriage and used scripture to back it up. Totally awesome.
We had quite the crew over for Bible study on Sunday. Crystal, Jessie, Jenny, Kate, me, Craig, Tod, Jason, and Adam (Adam Naab for all you Chelseaites out there) enjoyed some good times in the Word. Craig went over having consistent faith and there were plenty of times where we had some good questions and good discussion going on which is totally what Craig and I want to see. If people are confused about what Craig's saying, or don't know if they agree with it, then they should speak up and maybe Craig will be able to explain himself better. Don't be shy all you Bible study people!
Four of us headed over to the Gathering that night...me, Tod, Adam and Craig. We were joined later by Kate. It was a good time in praise and worship for sure. Adam and I headed back early because I was tired and he had some homework to do. It was cool getting to know another Chelsea person that I hadn't known all that well before.
Monday was good, I spent most of the day in work, class, and at meetings, but it was good. I got to bed pretty early...but while I was in bed all of a sudden I heard this "melemelemelmelmeeeee!" I thought someone was in the room! I was pretty freaked out! It turned out to be Jessie's computer...Tod had signed on. Crazy computer noises.
"When the dust in the field has flown, and the youngest of hearts has grown, and you doubt you will ever be free...don't bail on me."
