:: It's been a long time coming... ::
So I have updated in quite a while, which is partly due to my lack of care for such a thing, and for my business.
Break, has indeed, been a busy busy experience for me this year. I spent half of it in Chelsea, half of it in Grand Rapids, and both of these experiences were equally enriching and relaxing. In Chelsea, I spent most of my time with my family, going out to lunch, shopping, cleaning the house, cooking dinner, watching movies, and going to the movies. The relaxing kind of stuff, but also the kind of stuff families should do together. I think I've been missing that from my life for quite a while now. I forgot to call my mom yesterday. whoops. I'll have to do that today.
In terms of times spent with friends, I had the great fortune of watching Bubba Ho-tep with Kevin and Tod, as well as playing that oh-so-cool new age Ninja Turtles game for X-Box. YEAAAHHH! It was great. I also spent some time with John McCormick and his sister. We played in the snow, watched some movies, played some video games, and enjoyed good conversation. Good people those McCormicks. Craig and I also spent some time together. We went to the movies with Keith, and ran a whole bunch of errands together another day. We also went to the LAN party together, which was full of good times and great oldies all around. It was good seeing all those boys (and girl) and catching up with some of them. Playing computer games all night long is a most entertatining experience.
Here at Grand Valley I've kept relatively busy. We had a New Years shindig here and that was fun. There were just 7 of us total but it was great all the same. We played games, watched the ball drop, watched movies, and enjoyed the evening together. I also started BSF again (that's Bible Study Fellowship to all of you who think it's burrito supreme fiesta) and I went to a Home Acres meeting and party. I signed up to do The Purpose Driven Life with Home Acres and my small group will be meeting on Friday nights, booking every sinlge night of my week (excluding Saturdays) with bible studies, youth groups, and various other activities I'm involved in. I think I may need to drop a few of those...especially if I want to get a job this semester. Bummer.
Last night we celebrated Jenny's bithday. We went out to dinner at Bobarino's and had a most excellent waiter with an identity crisis. His name tag said "Dave" but his name was "Joshua." It was made crazy. Jenny's 21 now so she had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious beverage or two, one of which was on the house. We played a question game, courtesy of Keith, and I discovered a lot about myself. My dream car is an amphibeous vehicle of sorts and "quarshmatime," the word I made up, is an Africian spice used in cooking, especially for the preparation of Zebra. After dinner, which was QUITE entertaining to say the least, we went to Crush to dance the night away. I was once again reminded as to why I dislike dance clubs so much, and I will most definitely avoid that situation again. I did enjoy myself, dancing with my friends and avoiding dancing with people I didn't know, and it gave me such joy to see Jenny so happy for her birthday. Her smile and her energy were total blessings last night.
Today, it's off to church at Resurrection Life and then it's lunch with the bible study leaders. It should be an awesome time indeed. Maybe I'll go to Mars Hill tonight, just for something to do. We shall see though.
Well, now that you're all caught up, I'd like to say this. Flee-floo. Ask Jessie what it means. She is the keeper of its definition.
