U-R! haha! Get it? Oh man. I've been seeing that sign in front of the same church for the last month and it wasn't until last week that I finally got it. Even though I go to chuch every Sunday, that sign definitely hit me right between the eyes because I am realizing that although I have gone to the same church for well over a year now, I have yet to become an official member and start becoming involved in a ministry there, which is a huge part of being a member of a church. Clearly, this needs to change. So, once school is finished I am going to dive right in to Resurrection Life and become a member, getting involved in any way I can. It's going to be rock solid.
So, my Easter weekend consisted of several most interesting adventures. I drove home on Saturday morning where I spent the early part of my day cleaning my car out, washing my clothes, and studying for my Accounting test. When my mom returned from grocery shopping we got to talking about how I need something to wear for Chris and Ashley's wedding. So, we randomly decided to head into Ann Arbor and buy some clothes! YAY! We then headed back into Chelsea where we enjoyed a $6 dinner courtesy of the dollar menu at Wendy's and then we headed to Chelsea High School where we atched the Chelsea teachers play a rousing game of basketball against the Detroit Lions! WHOAAAOAOAOAOA! haha! It was actually quite fun and they were signing autographs during halftime so my mom made me go around and get her sweatshirt signed by the six guys that were there. One of them happened to be David Kirkus, a Grand Valley alum, which I found highly entertaining. Oh getting an autograph from David Kirkus...
On Easter Sunday mom and I went to 10:00 mass at St. Mary where we had lots of good times. We sat in the recotory area in the back where there were tons of little kids walking around, stealing all of the eggs that were sitting a mere 1 foot of the ground in various planters. Why the church felt it necessary to put Easter eggs within easy reach of every kid that can walk, I do not know. We then headed out to my grandma's place (she lives in Fox Run, an elderly apartment complex and assisted living home) where my mom, dad, Elaine (a resident) and I got stuck in the elevator for a solid HOUR! It was actually quite entertaining. There was the adorable moment where Elaine's husband came knocking on the door saying, "are you alright down there?" "Oh yes, Roy," she said. "I'm in here with some very nice people." Oh. And then there was the 20something guy that walked by and said, "Whoa, are you like stuck in there?" Plus, I beat my phone Tetris score by quite a bit, reaching 216 lines. When we finally got out, we were 2 minutes early for our reservation (we had gotten there quite a bit earlier than we had planned, although the reservation was at the restaurant downstairs from my grandma's apartment). We had a delicious brunch buffet, which had the most excellent smoked salmon and cucumber and tomato salad in oil and vinegar. Overall, it was a most excellent Easter Sunday, ending with an Easter egg hunt in apartment 2L, where Crystal and I had hid 38 eggs and Jason and Jessie (the only participants) went wild trying to find them. As far as I know, they found every last one of them! Good job Jason and Jessie! :o) And now, I must resume study for my Finance test
