:: Lyrical obsessions ::
Ever since the Passion Conference I have had random uprisings of songs in my heart. Just words and lyrics rising up out of me in inexplicable ways. It's bizzare, but I like it. Current lyrics embedded in such a way that causes my blood to race...
"And what was said to the rose to make it unfold,
was said to me here in my chest,
so be quiet now and rest."
"I think I'm on the brink of something large
Maybe like the breaking of a dawn
Or maybe like a match being lit
Or the sinking of a ship
Letting go gives a better grip"
"Love too impossible and true
For anyone but You
For anyone but You"
"Love too unthinkable and true
For anyone but You
For anyone but You"
"And He set me on fire, and I am burning alive.
With His breath in my lungs I am coming undone.
And I cannot hold it in and remain composed.
Love's taken over me and so I propose the letting myself go.
I am letting myself go."
"You are my joy.
You are my joy.
You are my joy.
You are my joy."
"I'm trying to make you sing.
From inside where you believe.
Like it's something that you need.
Like it means everything.
I'm trying to make you feel.
That this is for you.
That life is happening.
That it means everything.
I'm just trying to make you sing."
"Lord, I wanna yearn for You,
I wanna burn with passion,
over You, and only You."
"We come to seek Your face,
Holy Spirit won't You fall on us?
Speak wisdom to Your people and Your saints.
Fill us with the knowledge of You.
Fill us with the knowledge of You."
"The Lord is gracious and,
Slow to anger and,
Rich in love, He is
good to all!"
"Into marvelous light I'm running,
Out of darkness out of shame.
By the cross you are the truth,
You are the life, you are the way."
Overall, the Passion experience was...amazing. The music, the messages, the movement of the Lord...everything was "abundantly more than I could ask or think." Typical God right? Always managing to astound and surpise us. The above lyrics come from the following musicians and songs:
David Crowder Band: "Here is Our King," "Foreverandever Etc...," "You Are My Joy," and "The Lark Ascending or (Perhaps More Accurately, I'm Trying To Make You Sing)."
Shane & Shane: "Yearn," "Name's Sake," and "Psalm 145."
Charlie Hall: "Marvelous Light."
