Well I just woke up from another dream-and-drool-filled nap. I'm still completely out of it and waking up, but I can't focus on what I need to so I'm just gonna start writing and we'll see what comes out.
I am on Spring Break now and it has been officially phenominal thus far. I got together with Naomi and Amanda for accountability on Friday and it was so great. We just talked about a lot of different stuff that each of us is going through right now and kind of reconnected after being on a two week hiatus. They are two great girls for sure and I love spending time with them. I think I'll be chillin' with Amanda this week on Tuesday. Perhaps Naomi should join us!
After the good times rolled with Amanda and Naomi, I bounced out to Dan, Reuben, and Jake's for another evening filled with movies, minor crazy antics, and good talk. Aaron and Pat joined us for a portion of the evening. Both qere equally entertaining with their inability to sit still and their ability to say whatever was on their mind. haha! Pat's good at doing that. Some highlights: Reuben jumping off the coffee table, spilling orange juice, and officially freaking me out by landing next to me on the futon; Jake's delicious magic brownies; seeing Jessica Cauffiel in a terrible scary movie at 2:00 in the morning (
Valentine); talking with Dan about everything under the sun. Overall, the best thing I could have done as the start of my Spring Break.
Saturday morning I left Grand Rapids at the ripe hour of 7:00 to head back to Chelsea for the day. Now, before Kevin and Tod get all upset that I didn't tell them I was coming home, my day was completely booked and by the end of it I was so tired you wouldn't have wanted to be around me anyway. Although, I find myself pretty entertaining when I get the lack-of-sleep grumbles...so maybe it would have been cool to see you guys anyway. BUT, as soon as I got home I got a shower and spent the rest of the morning talking to my mom about as much as I possibly could. It was good seeing her thing and I really want to actually spend more than one night in Chelsea the next time I go home for the weekend. I don't spend enough time with my family.
While we headed out to granny's we talked the whole way, about my plans when I graduate, domestic violenece, cute boys, and faith. She's got a lot of great stuff to say. When we reached Granny's we basically just turned right around and headed out to my Aunt Kathy's to switch cars and head out to the Fischer for
Chicago. My grandma is so cute. She is just so chuck full of advice and I love listening to her talk to my mom about where to turn and how to drive. I can't wait until I'm that old and I'm still telling my kids what to do and how to do it. I'll be the cutest, old and wrinkly backseat driver ever!
Chicago was a good show. It's amazing how movies just bring out so much more of the plot though! All I kept thinking was, "wow, if I hadn't seen the movie I really would be lost right now." But the songs were great, the dancing was fun, and the show was overall good times. We headed out to Royal Oak afterwards for some dinner at a great place called Lily's Seafood. I had a dish that would have been much better had it not been overcooked, but chillin' with the Fegley women ended up balancing the unfortunate food mishap. We went over to my uncle Keith's store afterwards. I had never been in it before and had honestly always been a little nervous to go. It's called "Noir Leather" and for some reason whenever I heard that name I always thought that very shady things would be sold there. But, it's actually really awesome punk clothes and some very cute stuff indeed! I ended up looking at shoes mostly...every woman's weakness, and ended up checking out a pair that looked really cute! My aunt asked me if I liked them, I told her yes, and she said that they used to be hers so I could just have them. haha! So, I tried them on, liked them a lot, and walked out of the store with a free pair of shoes! They may have been used, but they had only been worn like once and they look so great. The free shoes make me want to actually go out and shop now, and there are just so many cool stores in Royal Oak. I definitely think I need to spend some time shopping out there with my aunt some weekend.
Church was amazing this morning. Pastor Sam just ripped out some great stuff from Esther, a book I actually have never read. But, he has sufficiently perked up my intrigue for it now so I will definitely be checking that one out this week. He brought up a great point about finding mentors in your life, and how when you choose a mentor you should also make sure you want to be monitored. Meaning you want to have someone check up on you and make sure you're following the Lord. I think that's been missing in my walk sometimes, where I don't want to tell people what's going on just so I don't have to admit there's a problem. There was tons of other great stuff he said but I'm getting impatient and want to finish this so I'll leave it out. :o)
I saw a 75-year-old man at the mall today that instantly put a smile on my face. He was short, wore a cowboy hat, and had an obscene glittering belt buckle. The best part? He had a ginormous cross around his neck that was the best example of bling I have ever seen in my life. It was awesome.
